Level 0 Coaches
- Can only conduct Kick Start Coaching and can only take out a permit on behalf of a Club for a Kick Start event.
- Cannot take out a permit for themselves, run a coaching day OR conduct endorsement coaching.
- Can coach a maximum of six people at a time during Kick Start.
Applying – requirements:

Be 18 years or older

Have at least 2 years practical experience in motorcycle competition as a competitor or official and have sound knowledge of motorcycling riding skills
- Attend a Motorcycling Tasmania Coaching Course – You can express your interest by contacting us
- Before attending the course please ensure you have a current Working with Children Check and bring this along to the course.

Step 2: Attend the course and successfully complete all of the assessments during the course
Renewing – requirements:

Renewal Process:
Step 1: Compete the below form Level 1 Coaching Application & Renewal – By completing this form with no logged hours you will have your level 0 licence renewed
Step 2: Send the completed form along with your current Working with Children Check to motorcyclingtas@bigpond.com
Level 1 Coaches
- Can take out their own permits, run coaching days, conduct endorsement coaching, Kick Start Coaching and also complete Supercross Endorsements.
- Can coach a maximum of six people at a time, unless with a Level 2 Coach where they can then coach up to ten people at a time.
Applying – requirements:
In addition to having completed all Level 0 requirements you will also need to:
- Complete the online Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching General Principles program online HERE. Once completed please print your certificate.
- Have a current Working with Children Check
- Have completed at least 20 hours of ‘Sports Specific Tasks’, and have logged this in your Participation Journal. The following are suitable activities: –
Sport Specific Tasks Include:
- Present/lecture at Courses
- Attend Training Camps
- Conduct Practical Club Coaching

Step 2: Send in the above form with your Participation Journal, Certificate of completion for the Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching General Principles program and your current Working with Children Check to motorcyclingtas@bigpond.com

Have completed at least 20 hours of ‘Sport Specific Tasks’ and 10 hours of ‘General Sports Tasks’ over the 4 year period from the date of accreditation and licence issue. The following are suitable activities: –
Sport Specific Tasks (20 hours)
- Present/lecture at courses
- Attend Training Camps
- Conduct Practical Club Coaching
General Sport Tasks (10 hours)
- Attend State Department of Sport Recreation courses
- Attend other NCAS courses
- Obtain Sport Trainer accreditation
- Obtain First Aid (Red Cross / St John Ambulance)
- CPR accreditation
- Obtain an officials accreditation

Level 2 Coaches
- Can take out their own permits, run coaching days, conduct endorsement coaching, Kick Start Coaching and also complete Supercross Endorsements.
- Can coach a maximum of fifteen people at a time and with Level 1 Coaches can have an additional ten people.

- Have a Level 1 Coaching Licence
- Supply a current Working with Children’s Check

Level 2 Coaching Accreditation
Step 2: Send in the above form with your Participation Journal and your current Working with Children Check to motorcyclingtas@bigpond.com
Step 3: Your application is reviewed by the Motorcycling Tasmania Coaching Committee
Step 4: Motorcycling Tasmania notifies you of your applications outcome
Step 5: Successfully endorsed applications will be forwarded to MA
Step 4: MA will be in contact with the applicant
